Privacy Policy

Built by Owners — operated by M2 Innovation Ltd. Last updated: 23 August 2026.

1. Who we are

Built by Owners (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by M2 Innovation Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 15674241, with its registered office at Unit 10, Monarch Courtyard, Brackmills Business Park, Northampton, NN4 7BD (“M2 Innovation”). VAT registration number 465 8204 76.

This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data when you visit builtbyowners.com or product.builtbyowners.com (together, the “Site”), apply for or take part in the Growth & Readiness Founder-Led Programme (the “Programme”), or use our Owner Hub client portal/community.

We are the “data controller” for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, you can contact us at [email protected].

2. What personal data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Application and enquiry data: full name, email address, phone number, business name, business website, approximate annual revenue band, your main goal, any additional information you provide, and any coupon code used — when you apply for the Programme or request the Owner Briefing.
  • Account and community data: your name, email, and any profile information if you join the Owner Hub client portal or community.
  • Payment data: processed securely by Stripe on our behalf. We do not store your full card details ourselves.
  • Communications: records of emails, calls, and messages between us.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).
  • SMS/marketing consent: where you opt in via a checkbox on our forms, your phone number and your consent status for non-marketing and/or marketing text messages.

3. How we use your data, and our legal basis

  • To review and respond to your application for the Programme (necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform our contract with you if accepted).
  • To deliver the Programme and provide support to clients (performance of a contract).
  • To send you the Owner Briefing or other resources you request (consent, or our legitimate interest in responding to your request).
  • To send marketing communications where you have opted in (consent — you can withdraw this at any time).
  • To send service-related text messages relevant to your application or the Programme (legitimate interest, or consent where you have opted in).
  • To process payment via Stripe (performance of a contract).
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including basic analytics (legitimate interest).
  • To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

4. Who we share your data with

We use a small number of trusted service providers (“processors”) to run our business and deliver the Programme:

  • GoHighLevel / LeadConnector — the CRM, website, funnel, form, and client-portal platform that powers our Site. Your application and contact data is stored and processed on this platform.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Programme fees.
  • Cloudflare — website security, performance, and bot protection.
  • ScoreApp — if you complete one of our optional scorecards (linked from the Site), your responses are collected and processed by ScoreApp under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts / Bunny Fonts — used to display fonts on the Site; this can involve minimal technical data such as your IP address.

We only share what each provider needs to perform its service for us, and we have agreements in place requiring them to protect your data appropriately.

5. International transfers

Some of the providers listed above may process personal data outside the UK or European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an applicable adequacy decision.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function and to protect it from abuse (for example, Cloudflare's bot-protection challenge).
  • Analytics — to understand how visitors use the Site, so we can improve it.
  • Functional — for example, to load web fonts correctly.
  • Platform/marketing — set by our CRM platform to support forms, tracking of applications, and (where you have opted in) marketing follow-up.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Application data: kept for as long as needed to assess your application and, if you become a client, for the duration of the Programme plus 6 years afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
  • Unsuccessful or non-progressing applications: kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless you ask us to delete it sooner, or you opt in to hear from us in future.
  • Marketing contacts: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

9. Children

Our Site and Programme are intended for business owners aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the Site is not directed at them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We encourage you to review it periodically.
